Product News

The New Ashley Bag, $65

The Ashley Bag was named after a very excited customer of ours who visited our studio one night to create a handbag. A few cups of coffee and hours into the night, she and her Mom reluctantly decided on the fabrics for their fabulous bags (with 200 to choose from, it was hard to pick their favorite one!). When I gave her a sneak peek at this new design she squealed and said "This is the Ashley Bag!" Well, it sounded pretty good to us. A very roomy lined interior will pack everything you want and more. A zipper top keeps everything intact while the unique necktie handle will standout from any angle.

The Powder Room Clutch, $40

Need an excuse to use the powder room? This adorable clutch will do the trick! Sweet and simple, this clutch will go with any outfit, especially since you can pick the fabric of your choice (flower brooch optional). A zipper top and a handy wrist strap will let you hold that martini without the slippery feeling of a shoulder strap. So let the party invitations fly in...you'll want to take this clutch everywhere!

City Totes ready for Hollywood

We were very excited when the Los Angeles-based company, It's in the Bag, asked us to provide 15 City Tote handbags as part of the elegant gift bags given at the 2nd Annual La Femme Film Festival. Recipients included Rosie Perez, Ellen Pompeo, Sally Kirkland, Aline Brosh McKenna, Anne Meredith, Jane Anderson, Angela Hutchenson and Leslie LaPage (founder of the La Femme Film Festival). It was our first foray into Hollywood and according to co-president Ronna Nelsen, the handbags were a huge hit. We couldn't resist sharing her comments with you:

"Thank you so much for participating in the LA Femme Film Festival. The festival was a huge success! Everyone loved your bags, especially the cow print bag. I wish you could have been at the event to hear how all of the panelists were gushing over your bags with the different fabrics. We were giving them out to the judges and they were picking each bag up one at a time just raving about the fabrics. It was fabulous to see, Manisha!" www.itsinthebaginc.com

The Best of "Times"

We were thrilled when The Florida Times Union featured our company on the front page of Saturday's October 14th Business Section. The response we have received has been wonderful and we thank writer Angela Dryden for perfectly capturing the philosophy and product line of Sunisha Designs. If you missed the edition, read it online at www.jacksonville.com.

On A Personal Note

In most areas of my life, I'm a pretty old-fashioned gal. I still enjoy writing thank you notes and letters to faraway friends even though there's e-mail. I line dry my laundry to invite the fresh scent of wind and sun. And I absolutely love dressing up just to go to the supermarket. In the old days, that's where people would mingle and meet, so why not don your favorite baubles while picking out the perfect tomato?  I suppose I inherit much of this from my parents who have never allowed age, time or money to prevent them from enjoying life. Instead of saving china for guests, we used our favorite plates everyday. Instead of hiring a housekeeper, we cleaned, shined and organized together as a family. And Mummy would never allow my sisters and I to leave the house without a pressed shirt and a dash of lipstick. I thank them everyday because those experiences have influenced my love of enjoying life be it with a penny or a dollar. Turning errands into an event or drinking tea in a beautiful cup can make a trivial moment into a special one. If I quote it correctly, someone once said, it's not the years in your life that matter, it's the life in your years that do. Are you living it up?

We would love to have you at our home studio. Morning, evening, weekend or daytime appointments are welcome. Coffee, tea and something sweet are always on the house.

Remember, dress well, embellish with love and wrap in style.

Sincerely,

Manisha S. Joshi
